Blalock crews are setting up equipment near Cash Hardware and Parkway in preparation for the new roadway concrete to be placed. The equipment being used to place the concrete is called a bridge or truss screed, which provides a smoother surface for roadway applications - click here to read more about screeds. The placement of this section of concrete will take approximately two weeks. Afterwards, crews will then add the new concrete curbing, sidewalks, and pavers.
.The photo above shows the W. Bruce Street section, which is now open for vehicular traffic. Crews will continue to place the new pavers along the new sidewalk, as well as, installing amended soils in the new planters.
